COVER LETTER
To Whom It May Concern:
The ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds, represent my organization in a positive light, and "get things done" through effective leadership and collaboration are my strongest attributes. I am looking to transition into a leadership role where I can use those skills. I have had many experiences that have allowed me to be the strong candidate I am today.
In 2017, I was selected by the Okemos school administration to become a technology coach for my school district. Taking on this role meant that I would attend trainings with the focus on the integration of technology and present that knowledge to my coworkers. This past year, the technology coaches in the district collaborated to create a set of technology standards for all Okemos Public School teachers in order to solve the problem of inconsistency among students. These standards were presented to all staff by the technology coaches in each building. This experience of being a technology coach allowed me to further my own learning and gain confidence in speaking, educating other adults, and problem-solving.
In the past year, I coordinated small events, such as a community outreach project. The organization that I chose to coordinate an outreach project to was the Capital Area Humane Society in Lansing, Michigan. My students, their parents, school staff and I held a supply drive/ fundraiser to give directly to the humane society. This ended up being a successful event and allowed me to gain leadership in putting together and organizing a project.
As I will complete master's degree from Michigan State University in Educational Technology in May of 2018, I will be ready for a position with your company. I am confident that I can utilize my leadership and interpersonal skills to meet any challenge. I would appreciate the opportunity to meet in person to discuss how my experience and education can benefit your organization.
Thank you for taking the time to review my qualifications. I look forward to hearing from you to set up an interview.
Sincerely,
Morgan Counseller
